TACKLE IT Policy - tackle racism in rugby league

ZERO TACKLE COUNTZERO TOLERANCEHull Isberg supports and adopts a policy of ZERO TOLERANCE of racism in any form.

FIRST TACKLEPOLICIESHull Isberg is commitment to ensuring that players, spectators, staff and volunteers can enjoy an environment free of discrimination and racism
Have the written policies, regulations and conditions in place to support this commitment.
SECOND TACKLECOMMUNICATIONIt is the responsibility of all club officials to take a lead on its policies on racial equality. The policy on racial equality can be found in the Hull Isberg booklets under the equity policy.
This policy is enforced within each age group and all parent and players MUST sign up to this, all members and family must be made aware of this policy.
THIRD TACKLEPREVENTIONHull Isberg enforces Touchline Marshall to prevent spectators who take part in racist chanting, abuse or harassment from attending matches at their grounds on match days.
Any spectator(s)or players found to be guilty of taking part in racist chanting, abuse or harassment is ejected from the ground
- where an individual cannot be identified warnings should be issued with the ultimate sanction that the game be abandoned.

FOURTH
TACKLEEDUCATION & PROCEDURESHull Isberg will:
Adopt the RFL approved all encompassing Equity Statement.
Ensure all stewards receive Equity & anti racism training
Ensure that the nominated officer, other senior members of staff including coaches and Safety Officers receive racial equality training & that trained staff ensure that other staff and players receive appropriate training
Include compliance with this policy as a condition of purchase of a season ticket and print this in the season ticket book
Commit to achieving ClubMark and producing an action plan (with ongoing monitoring and evaluation) to assist in implementation of the Club’s strategy in tackling racism.
Include an equal opportunities statement in all job adverts.
Collect and keep information on the ethnic origin, age, sex & disability of all staff including those employed in match day roles.
Encourage the reporting of incidents of racial abuse and establish a framework to support such reports effectively including communicating a complaint/disciplinary process in respect of racism.
Ensure that all parts of their grounds are entirely free from racist graffiti. Ensure that there is no sale or distribution of racist literature in or around their grounds on match-days.
FIFTH TACKLEPARTNERSHIP & DIVERSITYHull Isberg will:
Undertake to co-operate to their best endeavours with BME community leaders, groups, agencies, and media outlets as they seek to promote awareness of ethnicity and associated inclusion issues and to combat racism
Ensure that their development strategies and playing programmes reflect the need to encourage involvement in Rugby League across all communities including black and minority ethnic communities.
