City of Hull Academy implemented a new scheme this year, lead by Steve Crooks. The idea was for coaches to send in a 1/2/3 nomination after each game for players from the opposition. This would be monitored in a league table and the winners chosen during the year and would help in the identification of players for the academy system in tandem with the usual scouting methods, but also gives a chance to the players who may not be picked up by the normal scouting systems.

The nominations for the Junior Man of Steel, to be presented at half time in Thursdays Hull derby at the K Com stadium are as below.
