Player Code of Conduct

Football Association expectations for all Hungerford Town FC players
•Adhere to the Laws of the Game
•Display and promote high standards of behaviour
•Promote fair play and behave within the spirit of the Laws of the Game
•Always respect the match officials' decisions
•Never engage in public criticism of the match officials
•Never engage in offensive, insulting or abusive language or behaviour
•Avoid bullying, intimidation and poor behaviour
•Show respect to others involved in the game including match officials, opposition players, coaches, managers, officials and spectators
•Ask my team captain to talk to the referee if I have a problem relating to the game
•Remember we all make mistakes
•Shake hands with the opposing team and the match officials at the end of every game
Hungerford Town FC expectations (specific to HTFC)
•Every player who signs for HTFC will agree to the code of conduct and also sign Southern League and Hellenic League registration forms.
•All players who sign will pay a £30 player affiliation. This will cover membership and a player kit package.
•Players will sign for the club and will play for any team within the club that the management deem appropriate (any issues to be raised to the Director of Sport)
•Players to liaise, link and support the youth structure where possible. Players are encouraged to interact with Hungerford Juniors e.g. Training sessions, end of season events, making the youth feel part of the club.
•All players expenses are to be paid an hour after matches have been completed on a Saturday. Midweek expenses will carry forward to the following Saturday.
•If a player is regularly missing training, or does not provide a valid reason for not training, player's expenses can be amended to reflect this.
•Players who obtain expenses will be paid at half pay for matches where they play in the reserves.
•All players are expected to attend training and supply adequate footwear fit for purpose. Anyone unable to attend training must contact their appropriate manager prior to the session taking place.
•Any fines for bookings, sending offs or disciplinary matters are to be paid by the player.
•All players are expected to support club functions and events where possible. Players are expected to remain at the club for at least an hour after matches.
•For matches where a minibus or group travel is organised, it is expected that players will travel together where possible.

Any breaches in the code of conduct can result in Hungerford Town FC taking disciplinary action. This could include an informal warning, formal warning, and a club fine or in extreme or persistent circumstances dismissal from the club.

Coaches/managers -
•Show respect to others involved in the game including match officials, opposition players, coaches, managers, officials and spectators

•Display and promote high standards of behaviour
•Always respect the match officials' decisions
•Never enter the field of play without the referee's permission
•Never engage in public criticism of the match officials
•Never engage in, or tolerate, offensive, insulting or abusive language or behaviour.

When working with players, I will:
•Place the well-being, safety and enjoyment of each player above everything, including winning.
•Explain exactly what I expect of players and what they can expect from me.
•Ensure the parents/carers of all players under the age of 18 understand these expectations
•Refrain from, and refuse to tolerate any form of bullying.
•Develop mutual trust and respect with every player to build their self-esteem.
•Encourage each player to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance.
•Ensure all activities I organise are appropriate for the players' ability level, experience, age and maturity.
•Co-operate fully with others in football (e.g. officials, doctors, physiotherapists, welfare officers) for each player's best interests.
