Richie Bourne, manager of Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South & West club Abingdon United, has announced he has secured six of his squad from last season for the 2012/13 campaign ahead.

Those re-signing are Curtis Angell, James Foster, Matthew Biddle, Chris Baker, Stuart Young and Carl Evans.

Bourne said: "I'm delighted they are staying. They did very well last season and I'm expecting even more from them this coming season.

“Although we can`t officially register them until the 1st July, I've shook hands with those players and would expect that to be enough.

“Like all of us managers it`s a waiting game with a few, because players want to establish what offers are on the table and then decide. It`s very frustrating as we all know, but that`s the way it is when your unable to throw around contracts and lots of money.

“I've certainly put offers on the table for a number of players and we've been very active. It`s just a case now of waiting and see.”
