....before the break at Newport County but a penalty twenty minutes from time took the tie into extra time. The Division One South & West club then deservedly booked a First Round Proper tie at League Two Cheltenham Town with two goals in the second period of extra time giving them a superb 3-1 victory. In the night's other tie Gosport Brough took the lead on the half hour mark against Slough Town but their Central Division visitors scored twice after the break to win 2-1 and earn an away First Round tie at Mansfield Town of the Conference Premier Division.
