Bobby Wilkinson has further boosted his squad as the pre-season campaign builds in advance of the Evo Stik League’s August 18 kick-off.
He this week signed Nuneaton Town’s former Gloucester and Forest Green striker Ben Pugh, former Didcot Town skipper Alex Stanley and ex-Thatcham defender Mark Hughes and he also re-signed left back Diak John, who has been interesting Basingstoke.
Hungerford will also play Basingstoke in an extra friendly at Bulpit Lane on Tuesday night, before which they take on Reading’s Development side at home on Saturday.
“We are mega, mega-strong at the moment,” said Wilkinson. “I want to get cover in every position and we have upped the bar in the quality of players that we are bringing in.”
Former Reading midfielder James Harper spent last weekend with Coventry City and is now at Doncaster Rovers for a week with a view to a permanent signing.
