Banbury United’s new owner, Jed McCrory, has targeted a push for the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division....
....play-offs after appointing Edwin Stein as their new manager.
Stein, who is being assisted by his brother and former England international Brian, saw his new charges draw 1-1 in their FA Cup First Qualifying Round tie at Hungerford Town last Saturday.
Now he is looking for them to see off their Division One South & West opponents in tonight’s replay, where the winners face a trip to either Cinderford Town or Merthyr Town in the next round on September 22nd. Edwin Stein took over after boss Ady Fuller and his assistant, Paul Lamb, left the club, and McCrory says he likes what he’s seen so far.
“We’re trying to move the club forward,” said McCrory.
“Ady and Paul weren’t winning matches. We haven’t won a game yet, but I have watched the last two games and the football has been excellent.
“Our aim has to be to get in the play-offs and with Edwin and Brian on board the training will be exceptional.”
