Steve `Taffy` Richardson has rejoined Poole Town from an informal loan spell with Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South & West rivals Wimborne Town.

Veteran Richardson has spent the past three weeks at Cuthbury in a bid to get valuable game time having fallen down the pecking order behind Glenn Howes and Micky Hubbard at Tatnam. But Dolphins assistant boss James Wood confirmed the 44-year-old was now likely to remain at Tatnam for the rest of the season.

Wood said: “We have called Taffy back from Wimborne and it was always Tommy Killick’s intention to have him back.

“His drive, determination and experience is key and you can’t buy that.

“You need people like Taffy involved in games like this.

“It’s very important because we have a lot of good young players and the advice people like Taffy and Aaron Skelton give is vital.

“I believe he is back with us now for the rest of the season, which is great.”
