Byron Walton, manager of Evo-Stik League Southern Division One Central club Beaconsfield SYCOB, believes his side have to put in a perfect performance to create an FA Cup upset at Blue Square Bet South side Staines Town this weekend

But the Rams boss admits that 'anything can happen in the cup' as he prepares his Rams side for the Second Qualifying Round tie at Wheatsheaf Park.

SYCOB are smarting from a 4-0 league defeat last weekend that ended their impressive eight game winning run.

That run included a First Qualifying Round upset at Ryman League Premier side Wealdstone but Walton is aware they face an even tougher test this time around even though Staines have managed just two league wins all season. “We played superbly at Wealdstone but will have to play even better to beat Staines,” he said. “It is a game we can probably enjoy because there is absolutely no pressure on us.

“We have to give everything to get through to the next round and hope that luck is on our side. We have to put in a perfect performance and they need to have an off-day but anything can happen in the cup.

“They have a nice stadium, a good pitch and there should be a good crowd; we are looking forward to it. I have watched Maidenhead a few times in the Blue Square South this season and the standard is good.

“The main difference is that if you make a mistake then you get punished. So we will need to be defensively sound on Saturday.”
