Last year's Didcot skipper, Alex Stanley, one of the club's most popular players in recent seasons has transferred to Hungerford Town.

Alex made more than 130 appearances for The Railwaymen, scoring 10 goals, since his move to the Loop in 2009.

He particularly endeared himself to the Diddy supporters when he was one of only two players to remain at the club following their relegation in April 2011.

Alex is a left back and made his first appearance last night in a comfortable victory away to Southern League Central Division Fleet Town.

The Crusaders won the match 3-0 with goals coming from Luke Hopper, Harry Goodger and Carl Davies.

Hungerford now welcome a Reading FC XI to Bulpit Lane on Saturday in a 3pm Kick off.
