The History Of Hunslet Warriors ARLFC Junior Section.
The junior section of Hunslet Warriors ARLFC was founded in late 1999. The senior section was looking for a junior section after success in the Yorkshire League and so wanted to join the National Conference League. To obtain this status all conference sides must have “grass roots development at junior level.

As advertisements for local children spread around the area a group of volunteers set up the section and managed to field two teams in their first season at Under 8s and Under 9s level. The first ever junior game to be played at Hunslet Warriors saw the Under 8s entertain Rodley Rockets, their first ever win was towards the end of that season at Crofton. Meanwhile the Under 9s continued progress throughout the season. Players included Declan Storey,Ryan Wright,Paul Bisby and Danny Rouse. The original coaches were Mick Harrison, Steve Bisby and James Silverblade.
An Awards for all grant followed and with this, first class training equipment and kits were purchased. With further local sponsors the junior section purchased a mini bus from a local taxi firm to transport the two junior teams to games and functions. After the bus was shared with senior players to further costs, eventually high insurance premiums and maintenance costs meant the bus was eventually sold.

Each new season has seen further players joining so a new Under 8Å¡ team keeps rolling off the Conveyor each year. Hunslet Warriors coaches are currently improving links with local schools and are now involved in coaching and sharing facilities at three local schools around the area.

The first competitive trophy won by a junior side was in 2003/04, when the under 12s beat rivals Hunslet Parkside at South Leeds Stadium in a one sided game. Further the side beat Stanningley at Bus Vale in the semi-final - probably the most entertaining game ever played by a Warrior side.

The club is now thriving and the section received Clubmark accreditation in late 2006.They were awarded Clubmark Gold in October 2009.
We now have Youth teams which are thriving today. Our under 16s in 2007/8 swept the board winning the Yorkshire Juniors Premier League and doing the cup double of Leeds and Yorkshire cups. Further more,The first international rep player Adrian Raw was picked to play for England against Wales, a lad that started at the Warriors at Under u*9s
In February 2008 the under 14*s and 16*s reached the final of the BARLA Yorkshire cup a at Heworth after the their leagues rejoined BARLA membership.
We see visits from Leeds Rhinos for presentation events such as the league trophy

We have strong partnership links with the Bradford Bulls connection and the Leeds Rhinos as well as links with Wakefield Wildcats and Cas Tigers. The Warriors juniors are now the most represented club on leeds service area.
With a strong committee and excellant qualified coaches we are awaitng more success to follow players such as Chev Walker to pro clubs.
With good links with the local community we are now a mighty focal attraction in South Leeds.
Our strong development plan is well on course and due to hard work by all management are reping the rewards. Upgraded and extensive pitches, improvements to clubhouse facilities. Successful funding for equipment development.
