THE MILLIE ROBINSON CHARITY GAME
I first thought of this event around 2 months ago not knowing what kind of feedback I would receive. Remember last years charity events was based for the Candlelighters childrens charity. It was a great success with all juniors taking part in various events.
This year I really wanted to help someone more local and related to Hunslet Warriors. There was no one more local than 8 year old Millie.
Since then people have jelled together for a great cause
May I take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all the players who took part and obtaining sponsorship for the game.
The kind donations from the parents, players coaches for their gifts for the raffle prizes.
A special mention to Simon and Dave Peach for help on the field.
Sharon Bisby and Dawn Heath for their help in particular with the raffle, Leanne Banning for the food.
Dave Brook who refereed the game. Stevie Lee from the club.
Without these people the event could not have taken place.
The event on the day raised a staggering NINE HUNDRED AND FIFTY POUNDS with still more sponsorship to come in.
I am aware Millies family were astonished with this figure and again are greatfull for all we have done.
Finally thanks again and I believe there is enormous feedback asking if this can be now a annual event in the Warriors juniors calender.
