Sam Beatties first XI beaten in the Quarter-Final of the Malcolm Simmonds Cup. The Sunday Hares in seventh heaven as they beat LG United 7-1 away.

The Hares welcomed WSFL Division 1 league leaders Ockley to the Recreation Ground in the Quarter-Final of the Malcolm Simmonds Cup. Both teams looked a little rusty on a heavy pitch and it was the visitors who settled quicker and knocked the ball around well. They took the lead from the penalty spot midway through the half and created most of the clear chances. Leroy Sweeney had the Hares best chance just before half-time but couldn't beat the keeper in a one on one. Hunston were more positive in a more evenly matched second half. However a lapse of concentration at the back saw Ockley double their advantage with a well taken goal. Kieron Playe-Howard set-up a tense final 10 minutes when he swept in a free-kick. The second goal never came to force extra-time and Ockley progress to the semi-final.
The Sunday Hares returned to action and thrashed LG United 7-1 at Florence Road. Hat-tricks from Matt Walker and Martin Lomas plus a James Hirlehey strike saw the Sunday Hares take all three points. Hares MOM - Matt Walker.
