Club Objectives

Hunsworth FC merged with Gomersal & Cleckheaton FC in June 2020 and continues with the purposes under the constitution of the expanded club.

The purposes of Hunsworth FC was to promote the amateur sport of Association Football in Hunsworth and the surrounding area, to arrange matches and social activities for its members, and community participation in the same.

The club was financially stable and run by a group of long serving committee members, who are all volunteers. Hunsworth FC was founded by local people to play football at the highest standard possible, without becoming professional players. We aim to maintain that ethos, looking to improve both Saturday and Sunday teams over the coming seasons in order to compete and challenge for divisional titles and cups.

To provide facilities suitable for such a high standard of amateur football, we founded East Bierley Community Sports Association, to take ownership of our ground, which was secured by an asset transfer from Kirklees Council on a 125 year lease.

As part of the expanded club we undertake fundraising to fulfill our plans to keep improving the ground facilities – i.e a better playing surface, training areas, floodlights, and possibly a clubhouse.

We formed partnerships with other local amateur football clubs - East Bierley Village FC, who also play in the Bradford Sunday Alliance Football League, and have now merged with Gomersal & Cleckheaton FC, who play in the Huddersfield Junior Football League. These clubs share our ground, along with Birkenshaw Bluedogs RFL.

We welcome players who want to challenge for a place in either team, to play at a high standard, improve our teams and want to enjoy playing amateur football in West Yorkshire.

Membership of the Club shall be open to anyone interested in Association Football on application regardless of sex, age, disability, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or other beliefs. However, limitation of membership according to available facilities is allowable on a non-discriminatory basis.
