Home Win

2 years ago, By Jamieson Shearer

1st XV open league campaign with a fine victory.

In a tough physical encounter Huntly emerged victorious over a big Inverness Craig Dunain side, running in 6 tries in the process.

With only one pre-season game under their belts it was no surprise that Huntly took a little while to settle. The set scrum held its own but the lineout suffered with the lack of practice.

Defensively Huntly were sound with one period of play at the end of the first half when Inverness Craig Dunain were camped on the Huntly line saw some big hits go in.

Try scorers were: Mike Varney, Callum Whyte, Gregor Small, Andrew Whytock and Neil Cran with a brace. William McPhee converted 5.

Where next?

U15 record fine win. 41-5 away win.
Home Defeat 1st XV go down 19-10 to Gordonians 2nd XV.
