S1/S2 victory
S1/S2 secure fine victory away to Aberdeen Wanderers.
The S1/S2 boys played their first game of the season with a friendly away to Aberdeen Wanderers at Groats Road.
With some boys not being available a squad of 15 made the trip.
Coaches Chris Lee, Dennis Johnstone & Mark Padgett have been working hard with the boys over the past few weeks and they were overjoyed when the Team recorded 1 superb 19-0 win (S1 scoring 3 pts for a try & 1 point for conv/pen).
The game played over 4 x 15min quarters saw Huntly touch down for 6 tries with only one being converted.
This was very much a Team performance with everyone contributing. The defensive work against a big powerful Wanderers pack was very good, plus the support work and quick handling at times in the backs was very pleasing.
On a hot day the fitness of the team, especially the front five,resulting in two strikes against the head in the last quarter was also pleasing for the Coaches.
