HRC bounces back with big road win

Huntsville rugby bounced back from its first loss to record a solid road win.

The match between Huntsville and Chattanooga started out quickly. The tempo was played at a high tempo which would ultimately be Huntsville's advantage. HRC received the kick but would end up playing a little sloppy.

Chattanooga would jump on the Wild Turkeys and score the first try. Immediately on the kick-off HRC won the ball back and worked it down the field to quickly match Chattanooga's try.

The first half would repeat in this manner as Chattanooga would score another try followed by Huntsville scoring a try. Near the end of the first half HRC would start to dominate play. The Wild Turkeys would put another try on the board and make the conversion to take the lead going into the half.

HRC's fitness would start to show itself in the second half. The forwards were quicker to the breakdowns and the backs were able to cover more meters and more field then their opponents.

Huntsville would put multiple tries in with good supporting play. They methodically worked the ball down the field to control the tempo and the game itself.

Several players on Huntsville scored hat tricks. Winger Austin Creel played a great instinctive game and was able to secure the hat trick. Outside Center Brad Montgomery also played a great game and he too was able to get a hat trick.

With this win, Huntsville stays in the race for the matrix title. HRC next plays Clinch River at home. HRC is looking to win and sweep the season series with Clinch River.
