History
The 31 founder members recognized that there wasn’t a Rugby Club in Hutton and as some of the new members were formerly at Hutton school or lived in the area it was decided that Hutton would be an ideal location to form the new club.
In September 2007 Hutton RUFC was officially accepted into the Lancashire RFU and although in that season the teams were unable to play in an established league they set out to arrange as many non league games within Lancashire, Cumbria and Manchester as possible.
Throughout that season Hutton RUFC were well received by fellow clubs and welcomed as a valuable new addition to any forthcoming league and gained confirmation that Hutton 1st XV would be playing in North Lancashire Division Two in 08/09 and the 2nd XV in the Miller Homes League.
The club is currently playing home games at Lancashire Police HQ in Hutton, however plans are currently underway for the club to have their very own site within Hutton for the 11/12 season.
The 1st XV won North Lancs 2 after losing only one game all season and were promoted to North Lancs 1 - the 2nd XV came 3rd in Miller Homes West 4 and were similarly promoted - to League 3 North
The club is currently run by volunteers and has a player base of 65 and trains every Tuesday and Thursday at the Police HQ
