For the second week in a row Hyndland had a full squad of 22,but unlike last weekend the 22 decided to work for each other for the 80 minutes.Showing 8 changes from the debacle in Cowal ,Hyndland started well, but a couple of errors allowed Bishopton to grab a couple of scores to go 0-10,a heavy defeat looked on the cards but the Hyndland forwards started to play with a bit of aggression and the backrow of Jason Costello,Danny Harris and Iain Loach started to make good yards with the ball in hand giving new scrumhalf david mackay good ball to work off, this allowed Tony Smith at standoff to start spreading the ball and it paid off as winger Ed Jessop scampered over for a score converted by Tony 7-10. Hyndland kept up the drive and Flanker Iain Loach was next over the line for a try again converted by Tony 14-10. From the Bishopton kick-off Skipper Ewan Roberts took a clean catch and fed support runner Jason Costello who made a good 40 yards before he was brought down but good quick ball saw the ball fed to Lt Surgeon paul jones at centre who coasted in for a try 19-10 ht. The halftime chat about them playing better soon evaporated as the second half started as a couple of injury changes seemed to disrupt the Hyndland squad and again Bishopton took advantage of some Hyndland errors to grab 3 tries 2 which were converted to race into a 19-29 lead. Did the Hyndland heads go down No was the answer as again the Forwards lifted their efforts and started making ground with the front 5 making yards everytime they took the ball on. Hyndlands 4 try came about from replacement Centre Nick Gillan’s smart little chip over the Bishopton defense which bounced badly for the Bishy fullback and allowed winger Ed Jessop to grab a second try as he punished the fullbacks mistake 24-29. Hyndland again attacked and good driving play took them to the Bishy line where Mark Collins finally got a try for the front 5 after he drove over from a good pick and drive 29-29,Cue touchline silence as Tony Smith prepared for the conversion Cue the cheers as Tony coolheaded kicked the conversion 31-29. Hyndland finished the game in the Bishy 22 and never allowed them to break out.
