Another poor day at the Office
Hyndland’s poor season continued when they went down 20-46 to Birkmyre at Scotstoun last Saturday.Hyndland have used over 44 players and injuries have certainly taken there toll this Season with Hyndland losing another 2 on Saturday. With 4 regular scrumhalfs missing it was all rounder Gareth Quigley who pulled on the 9 jersey and as usual he did not let the side down. Hyndland had gone down to a heavy defeat at Birkmyre earlier in the season ,though they played that game with only 14 they dominated the Birkmyre forwards and again last Saturday Hyndland gave Birkmyre a lesson in scrummaging and in the lineout which must surely worry a side with aspirations to play higher as they claimed all through the game.As it was Hyndland played with players out of position all along the backline but they stuck in and tried for the 80 minutes. Hyndlands tries were all scored by forwards with evergreen Innes Macleod jugdodging with 2,the first a straight drive which allowed him to burst through from 30 meteres out and the second a pushover as Birkmyre were again given a lesson in scrummaging,Props Paul McGonagle and Mark Collins grabbed the other tries with textbook straight driving that scattered there would be tacklers. Hyndland were only 27-20 with 10 minutes to go and much to the annoyance of their Coaches allowed their heads to down and allow Birkmyre to put a gloss on the result. Well done to the 16 that played on Saturday,Hyndland are at home this Saturday when they play Cowal KO 3pm.
