Hyndland RFC managed to get back out onto the pitch last Saturday for the first time since the 24th of November 2012 when they took on 2nd in the league Moffat at Scotstoun and yet again the young Hyndland side found themselves bullied into a 32-7 defeat.
It was Hyndland though who started the stronger of the sides and soon had Moffat defending their line, but a combination of over eagerness and inexperience was costing Hyndland points (Rugby is a thinking game as well as a running game). The Hyndland scrummage was as usual causing there opposite numbers problems and it was from here that Hyndland should have took the lead, only for a lack of concentration to allow Moffat to escape and march upfield to grab a couple of scores against the run of play.Into the second quarter of the game Moffat took control and never lost it till the last quarter when Hyndland finally took control,Hyndland though had missed their chance and only managed one try, when Lock jim mcbrearty received the ball 30 meteres out he drove straight on then dummied the Moffat scrumhalf with a windmill that Pete Townsend of the Who would have been proud off,Neil Ross converted 7-32. This was a game that Hyndland should have done better in and hopefully the lessons learned by the guys will carry them in good stead for the rest of the League Campaign.
