H&D Darts Off To a Winning Start

H&D 5 ~ Malt & Hops B 4

The Darts Season finally arrived but that didn't deter skipper Steve Taylor darting off to Scotland Gold Panning with Froggie.

So that left Wrighty in charge. All week he didn't want to do it and asked Chiv his plans for singles every day on the phone ~ then he changes his mind. Also missing was deadly Derek Wright with a back problem.

The evening started In panic ~ Stu Court only bringing in result cards & signing on forms at 7.15pm. By 7.45 Hythe had 11 players with Pete the Killer Miller going to the Travs meat raffle first and winning Pete Bainbridge ~ so another person signed on. Wrighty's team thoughts in tatters.

8.15 still no sign of the oppo yet outside were a dozen coppers with torches searching the park . Were they looking for the Malt team got lost in the grounds !!!. Anyway next minute who walks in with his team ~ Last years pizza man ~ played for more darts teams in 3 years than Steve Claridge had football clubs.

Still the game finally got under way and Wrighty taking no risks opened up with Killer Miller who got a 2-0 win over Keith Varney.
Then to the disgust of the Curry kids ~ they were asked to play 2&3. Bit early for them ~ they are usually disgesting their 'eat all you can curry'

Chalky going on first and throwing his darts like chop sticks lost 1-2 ~ Saturday afternoon practise for him.

Next up Andy Munden playing against Simon Whitlock minus the pony tail. Crumbs he said your not the first person to say I look like Whitlock'. Surely a win for our BT big man but no ~ too many Bajis repeating on him and a 1-2 defeat. Wrighty's line up in question so he sends on Scotty Rollinson and the big man delivered 2-0 win over Andy Bennett. Game score 2-2

Who does Wrighty put on 5th ~ guy was having a hernia darting around the room questioning his thoughts. Finally up went Pete Bainbridge on debut but thank fully a 2-0 win.

Hythe 3-2 up with Wrighty to play ~ surely a 2 game lead going into the doubles which would allow the skipper to play the nearly men. But NO ~ double trouble and Wrighty loses 1-2 against Mike Owen.

3-3 now some thinking to do. Chalky who normally has a lot to say at this point was quiet still wondering why his darts were going in like Thunderbird 1's take off.

Up next ~ Rolly & Frosty looking dashing in shirt & tie. Scotty powered us to a first leg lead and then Frosty got those treble 19s going to give us a 4-3 lead.' Best ive played down here' said Frosty. About bl--dy time

Who next Lenny, Chaz, Chiv, Sam, Jonjo, or The Curry Kids ~ No time to play again Wrighty & Killer Miller. Wrighty making sure he gets one win in on the night so he can call home. But fair play the boys delivered a 2-0 and the match was won.

With one game to go & to stretch time out til closing time ~ Up next Lenny & Chaz.
Two darts in the board ~ one dart out ~ nothing changes with Lenny who looked a bit deflated after starting his diet. 0-2 the score nothing much to say here. Improvement needed. A opening match win for Hythe & Wrighty could call home and declare a 5-4 win.

Well done to the Malt lads ~ great night. Now to next weeks match at the Nelly and Sausage has a selection headache on his hands though Munden, Frosty and Lenny are away. But you never know ~ Who will the Killer turn up with this week.
