2017 W10 Rules
Eligibility 13 years of age and older
Not for players who have played hard ball cricket before
Pitch 18 yds
Outfield A boundary of between 25 and 30 yards is recommended
Teams 10 a side, extras players are allowed for fielding purposes
Duration 10 overs
Ball Pink kwik cricket wind ball
Batting Players will use plastic bats
Each team will bat in pairs for 2 overs
5 runs are deducted at the fall of each wicket and the batters will swap ends, except if the wicket falls on the last ball of an over
The LBW rule does not apply unless the batter deliberately kicks the ball away. In the event of this happening the batter is given advice by the umpire, who will explain that if this then happens again the batter will then be given out.
Bowling At least 6 players must bowl a minimum of 1 over each, but cannot bowl more than 2 overs in total.
All bowling to be from one end.
Maximum of 6 balls per over – extras are not re-bowled except in the last over of an innings which must contain 6 legal balls (Wides /No Balls still score 2 runs)
Extras No Balls & Wides - 2 runs added to the batting
Tie In the event of a tie, the team that lost the least number of wickets is the winner. In the event of the same number of wickets lost, the winner will be the team which has scored more runs at the end of the 9th over and if the same number of runs has been scored at that stage then the end of the 8th, then 7th, then 6th etc.
