Rain Halts The Vagabonds

With Hythe well set for another win ~ Rain abandoned the game just after tea

Hythe welcomed the colourful Vagabonds back to Jones Lane for their annual fixture.

Tarin skippered the side in the absence of Jonjo and elected to bat first.
A solid start from O'Connor & Flanagan took the score to 55-0 after 14 however soon after O'Connor was bowled by Hyde for 18 and soon after Flanagan followed ~ bowled by Davidson for 29.

Tom Richards (top scorer last week) made just 1 before he was bowled by Hyde. At drinks Hythe had moved onto 73-3 with Jamie Meredith looking menacing.

Meredith & 64 for the 4th wicket before Mason was run out for 38. Meredith continued to hit runs and brought up a fine fifty. Sanderson 7 Taylor fell at the other end by Shaun Moss and Meredith added 47 for the 7th wicket before Meredith retired 76*. Moss finished 27* as Hythe ended on 235 for 7 after 40 overs.

With rain clouds looming over the tea break Hythe managed just 7 overs at the Vagabonds before play was halted. Kev McCarthy did manage to bowl Hutchins in that time for 1.~ Vagabonds 19-1 after 7 at the close.

Such a shame as the opponents had travelled down from near Guildford.
