Runs Flow In September Friendly
Jamie Meredith hit a quickfire ton inc 7x4s 7 9x6s as runs flowed vs Sway
Firstly thanks very much to Sway for fulfilling the gap left by Peartree's pull out yesterday.
The young Sway side kept going despite a Meredith / Jones barrage early on and not one ball was lost thanks to their enthusiasm in getting the ball back.
The game itself commenced with the toss taking place in Dave Marshalls car ~ offering Pete Miller the choice of what to do. Bat was the answer and Jamie Meredith & Tom Jones filled their boots. The partnership was worth 162 before Meredith retired 100* in the 15th over. His innings inc 7x4s & 9x6s. At the other end TJ went onto score a maiden fifty and 63 in total.
Wickets then started to tumble though Noah Vaughan made a useful 15 7 Fletch 21. But it was left to the veterans ~ Mossy and Steve Rollinson to break a Club 7th wicket partnership of 128* to finish on 341 for 6 at the close. 15 off a new club record. Moss made 68* & Rolly 48*.
After tea we saw a smashing innings by George Lewis 61 who was well supported by Stan Wooldridge 30 & Clive Smith 24. Unfortunately for Lex Vaughan it wasn't such a good day ~ in front of grandad he was carried off after being hit on the ankle with the ball to the amusement of brother Noah.
As Pete swapped his bowlers Reece Owen made a fine 27 & Dave Marshall 38 at the end ~ Sway 206 all out. For Hythe (wait for it) Andy Gray finished with 2-4 blinding the batsman with his yellow boots.
