7 goal Ibis enjoy a comfortable win at Dalton
Ibis enjoyed a seven goal romp in a very one sided game at Dalton United on Sunday. In a match played on a great pitch and in warm conditions Ibis always held the upper hand and produced some great passing football and never really allowed the home side to get a foot in the game.
All 15 players were involved as the team was rotated regularly throughout the game and all 15 were impressive with Josh Ford, Cory Robinson & Paul Pennington particularly strong.
Ibis opened brightly but despite some quality being shown, especially through midfield, they couldn’t find a breakthrough until the 35th minutes when Ford executed a superb overhead kick from the edge of the area which flew into the top right corner of the net.
With one goal separating the sides at the break it was the away team who completely dominated in the second half and they doubled the score in the 51st minute through a Robinson free kick from all of 40 yards and added a third through Josh Phizacklea shortly after. The fourth followed in the 59th minute through Ford, a diving header from a Joe Fallows cross.
Two goals followed, a free kick from Sam Walker & a simple tap in from Ford, to complete his hat trick following a pile driver from Steve Tremeer which the keeper spilled.
Dalton United scored an easy consolation, before Ibis completed the scoring with five minutes left, Tremeer converting a Sam Schofield cross. So, an easy victory and a thoroughly deserved three points for Ibis who were quite excellent on the day, with the fantastic facilities and pitch at Dalton clearly being to their liking.
