Radford v Ellistown And Ibstock Utd
Having fun on our farewell tour
Our league farewell tour rocked up at Radford and with the Chairman giving us his best Elvis dance impressions, it was Radford who danced away with the 3 points with a hard fought 2-0 victory.
I missed the first 5 minutes of the game as I could not find the ground. School boy error that won't be repeated next year!!!.
In a tight contest, where you could not separate the teams, it was Radford who took the lead on 25 mins when an Adrian Hawes looping header found the back of the net.
Rad 1-0 EIBS 25 mins
We continued to probe away but were unable to create any clear cut chances while Radford were happy to get to half-time with a slender lead.
Rad 1-0 EIBS 0 HT
With an increasingly frustrated Radford bench, EIBS started the 2nd half on the front foot but as per the 1st half could not create any chances.
Our play pleased our Chairman Andy Roach who moved through the decades and decided to show us his John Travolta moves, while the away fans cheered him and team on. The away fans then shouted "No No Dave, do your shirt up" as Dave Hunt gave us a little bit of 70's disco.
It took until the 85 minute for Radford to make the game safe through substitute Jeavon Seaton who slotted home with a crisp shot from 20 yards.
Rad 2-0 EIBS 85 mins
With Radford settling for 2-0, the game drifted to the final whistle.
Rad 2-0 EIBS FT
Well played lads, we worked hard and deserved at least one point. Lets continue this form into Tuesday's game v Greenwood Meadows.
