Foxes haven’t played a competitive match since losing 3-1 to FC Romania on December 13, but are set to face the Braves at Broxbourne Borough’s Goffs Lane Stadium on Wednesday.

However, Broxbourne are meant to be in action tonight therefore Fenn doesn’t believe the pitch will be able to hold out.

“I think it is unlikely the game will go on because Broxborne are meant to be playing on it tonight,” he said.

“That will cut up so it leaves little time for the groundsman to work on it and if the weather keeps on as it is, then it is likely that will be off.

“The reason it is being played there is because Waltham Abbey aren’t happy with Eton Manor using their pitch and Broxborne have hired their ground out to Newham this season.

“They have also let Eton play over there a few times, but if we do have no game we will get the boys in for training anyway.”

Fenn would love the match to go ahead and if it does he knows what to expect from Eton Manor.

He also revealed he wasn’t too disheartened last weekend’s league meeting with Hullbridge Sports was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

“They are all tough games in this league and you don’t know who you are playing against each week,” Fenn added.

“In the Essex Senior League you just don’t know, but what we do know is Eton Manor will be a big battle up.

“We played an in-house friendly on Sunday so we got the boys a 90-minute blow out because I was concerned going into the Hullbridge game that they would be low on fitness.

“I didn’t want to be facing a side like Hullbridge with a lack of fitness so I was actually pleased it was off really because we are in a much better position now. We have signed a few players too and we are getting people back.”

Ilford have signed former St Albans City winger Lee Flavin and talented Leatherhead youngster George Whitelock – both are expected to be involved tomorrow night.
