After a very quick look-see around the club last night, there are lots of things that we're going to be looking at doing on our RFL Engage with your club weekend. We've not got a date in mind yet, but it will be a weekend in August, it's going to be a full club get together with brews and butties to keep everyone going, and maybe a couple of alcoholic drinks when we've finished, and we'll have a big thank you BBQ on the Sunday for all volunteers and companies who muck in and help.
Some of the things we'll be looking to do are :-
(1) Clearing and tidying the barn and re-connecting the electricity, with maybe a hard core path leading up to it.
(2) Putting in a concrete path leading to the changing rooms, in place of the glass and stone one we have at the moment
(3) Cutting down all the weeds and nettles from all around the club.
(4) Making an extra changing room in the old toilets.
(5) Plastering, painting and totally revamping the changing rooms.
(6) Giving the clubhouse a lick of paint or 2.
(7) Fixing the broken leaky roof and sorting out the guttering and downpipes.
There's probably many more things we need to do, but as the old saying goes "many hands make light work" i'm pretty sure we can get this done. We're going to need supplies and tools as well as tradesmen and volunteers, so let's get pestering companies to see what we can scrounge.
