The 1st XI finished off a successful first season back in the Halifax Cricket League with another maximum-points win over visitors Mount.
Mount batted first on a wet wicket and, aside from a partnership of 58 for the sixth wicket, wickets fell at regular intervals. Jamie Moorhouse picked up three wickets to take his wicket tally to 51 for the season, whilst fellow opening bowler Luke Brooksby took five wickets. Stuart Thompson and Stephen Cook were the other bowlers to take a wicket.
Despite losing three wickets in the space of six balls, the home side were patient and Veryan Brooksby anchored the innings with 36. Brooksby put on 56 with Moorhouse for the fifth wicket before departing with the score on 113. Moorhouse accelerated the run rate after Brooksby's exit and hit a boundary to score his first half-century of the season.
The 1st XI finished with 242 points out of a possible 264, with only Bradshaw, Clayton and the weather taking points off them.
