Daniel Murfet took his season's total runs to 953 with 116 not out as he led his side to a nine wicket victory at Queensbury to keep Illingworth's hopes of the 1st Division championship very much alive.
Electing to bat, Queensbury belied their lowly league position with valiant middle order resistance with Josh Dougall 41, Oliver Challis 46 and Ryan Senior with a quick fire 56 off just 22 balls (containing 6-4s and 4-6s) looking as though they might present a formidable target at 193-6 with 6 overs to go. A great catch from Adam Mellor ended Senior's innings and the tail quickly subsided as Queensbury were all out for 216. Stephen Cook 3-51 and Daniel Murfet 3-79 doing the bulk of the damage.
In reply Illingworth were never in trouble as opener Callum Cook with 44 off just 32 balls with 10-4s and then Murfet raced to 116 not out off just 61 balls ably assisted by Matthew Sewell with an undefeated 42 finished off the Queensbury challenge with 22 overs to spare.
