After Saturday's dismal display and Innings of 68 runs, a much improved batting display lead to members reaching for the records in the 125 Brochure.
A maiden century for Craig Taylor (103) and 58 from non-uk player, Ankur Sondhi, laid the foundations of a large total. 35 from Andrew Dixon and 21s from Niall Lockley, James Lawton and Luke Brooksby all helped towards achieving 309 for 8 - which equalled the second highest ever 1st XI score in the Club's 126 year history. The previous score being 309-6 against Skipton in 1968, teir highest score being 325-6 in 2007.
With pacemen Brooksby and Lockley going for 32 off their allotted 18 overs, scoring for the home side was difficult.
The skipper's Goulden arm saw another 4 wickets to reduce the home side to 59 for 9 until a late resurgence for the last wicket enabled a final total of 98 all out.
The winning margin of 211 runs being the fourth ever highest victory margin.
The second round will be away against Harden on June 13th after they beat Calverley by 1 run.

The winners of Harden v ICC will then play at home against the winners of Beckwithshaw and Bilton.
