Tom Watson's 5 for 37 restricts visitors to low total
The 2nd XI picked up 10 points in a win at home to Low Moor to keep themselves in with an outside chance of claiming the second promotion spot in the 2nd XI Division Two.
The visitors batted first and finished on 153 for 6 off their 45 overs thanks to some disciplined bowling from all six bowlers used by stand-in captain Karl Gornall. Tom Watson picked up five of the wickets to fall, whilst Ben Fearnley claimed the other as the two 2nd XI opening bowlers continued impressive personal seasons.
In reply, two partnerships of 40-plus were needed for a foundation and they found these between openers Gornall (19) and Matty Curran (26) and for the fifth-wicket between Tom Watson (31) and Jakob Morley (21), as the 2nd XI won with over five overs to spare.
