After a difficult opening match, what a difference 2 days and some welcome sunshine can make! Against another strong squad, our boys transformed themselves in this thumping victory, which bodes really well for the rest of the season. Our bowlers found a much better line and they were backed up by lively fielding, typified by Toby Heath
’s faultless groundwork and Benedict Forsey
’s high catch out of the sun! Several good, tight bowling performances kept the Torquay boys quiet, aided by a brilliant whole team fielding effort, with wickets for Benedict (his 3-1-2-4, the pick of the crop), Louis Mustafa
(1-5) and Dan Cowdry
Once again our opening batsmen built a very strong base to the reply. Leading from the front, captain Alex Harris
(30no) and Harrison Gorny
(20no) put on an unbroken stand of 52 before Alex retired and Benedict (4no) joined Harrison to seal the win inside 12 overs. The teams agreed to play out the remaining time so that everyone had a chance to bat and bowl. This is the sort of team performance that everyone should be proud of. Very well played lads!
