Sad News

It is with the greatest regret that the Club says farewell to our old friend Alan Jones, who sadly passed away on Good Friday, after a long struggle with illness.
"Jonesy" came to the club as a parent in the 1980s when his son Nick played for our Colts. Having a love of the game, and always eager to help out, Alan started umpiring and stood in many Colt and later Senior matches. He was a lovely man whose knowledge of sporting trivia was legendry in local quiz circles, and was excellent company during the post match de-brief, over a beer or two.
Unfortunately his failing health meant that we saw less of Alan recently as his mobility worsened, but when he paid us a visit he still managed a smile and hadn't lost his warmth and dry sense of humour.
We will miss you Jonesy, and our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with your wife Jeanette, and children Nick and Mandy.

The funeral is scheduled for 4pm on Tuesday 14th April at Torquay Crematorium, for those wishing to attend.
