Ipplepen Cricket Club are seeking one or more people to act as 'Duty 1st Aider' on Friday junior training nights with immediate effect.

As the scale of Ipplepen Cricket Club grows, our practices and procedures need to adapt to ensure that everything we do is "fit for purpose" for the size of club we are becoming.

A recent review of 1st aid procedures has identified that we would like 1 or more people to act as a "Duty 1st Aider" just on Friday evenings to provide additional 1st aid cover for junior training nights.

Although all qualified coaches and junior team managers are qualified 1st aiders, all of these people (when present on a Friday night) are actively involved in coaching and therefore if they have to deal with any 1st aid issues it would mean taking them away from their group of children whilst any 1st aid is given.

Therefore, we are looking for an additional person who would not be involved in coaching to act as "duty 1st aider" on Friday evenings.

This would involve being in or around the clubhouse on a Friday evening from 6.30pm to 8pm and being available to deal with any issues should they arise. In reality we would hope that this was a rare occurrence and that most weeks there should be nothing to do!

If more than one person was willing to take on the role, we would seek to establish a 'duty rota' so that each individual would only be needed to take on the role once every 2 or 3 weeks. This would also allow for cover when one person may not be at the club.

Anyone without a current 1st aid qualification can be funded to take an emergency aid course in the near future.

PERSON SPECIFICATION - ESSENTIAL

1st Aid qualification completed within last 3 years (minimum - Emergency Aid)
Available on most Friday evenings 6.30pm - 8pm
Willing to complete a DBS check and provide a personal reference

PERSON SPECIFICATION - DESIRABLE

1st Aid at work or higher level 1st Aid/medical qualification
Willing to check 1st aid kits are fully stocked and replenish as needed

If anyone would be willing to take on this role, please contact Head Coach Chris Partridge before Sunday 9th July.
