Ladies cricket training will return this coming Friday 5th May from 6.45pm - come along and join in!

Wine and Wickets - Devon Cricket Board's innovative program to get more adult females playing cricket - will once again be delivered at Ipplepen Cricket Club in 2017.

Devon Cricket have 'upgraded' the support available to clubs this season, and now revolves around a structured 10 week program that will be run at several clubs across the county in coming months.

The main addition for this year is that the Wine and Wickets program includes 3 inter-club "festivals", where groups of ladies representing their various clubs will get together for some softball cricket matches against other player who have been part of the Wine and Wickets program.

As an added bonus, players participating in the festivals will receive a free kit provided by the ECB to wear on the day, whilst weekly training sessions at Ipplepen CC will benefit from some new equipment.

And as in 2016, all participants in training will get a free glass of prosecco or a soft drink after sessions finish.

Kellie White has once again volunteered to lead the sessions, with the first session set to start on Friday 5th May, 6.45pm - 7.45pm.

Wine and Wickets sessions are open to all women aged 18+ including complete beginners. Training involves some basic skills coaching and playing cricket-based games with a soft ball. No equipment is required, just come dressed for some physical activity!
