Ipswich welcomed Newmarket on the back of a promising opening season win. Confidence was high but unfortunately this did not match the performance and the score line only remained at 0-0 thanks to some dynamic saves by Jeremy Blake. Although things did look like they were improving Newmarket managed to sneak a goal before half time, coming from none other than Ipswich’s own James Tuckwell who elegantly swept the ball into the back of his own net.
Despite the efforts of Oli Pipe and eventual man of the match Charlie Trembath Ipswich never really got in the game and struggled to find a rhythm in the second half and Newmarket galloped on tot a 5-1 victory. A goal coming late on from Henry Langton saved only a few blushes for Ipswich although it was set up by James Tuckwell to make up for his earlier error. DOD was awarded to Tom over who took a spectacular tumble in the warm up and struggled throughout the game to make an impact.
