IRLAM look to build on recent results

This Saturday see IRLAM FC welcome Barnoldswick Town FC to the Ambitek Stadium as they resume their Hallmark Premier Division campaign after a successful FA Vase victory on Tuesday night. Atherton LR proved tricky opposition on a horrendous night weather wise at Crilly Park, but good form proved to be decisive on the night as the team emerged 2-1 winners to progress to the next round.
Prior to that, a 3-0 victory over West Didsbury and Chorlton again showed that IRLAM are a force to be reckoned with at the Ambitek.
Our visitors, Barnoldswick Town, although on a run of three consecutive defeats would point to FA Cup and Vase exits in those three, the third a tight 1-0 defeat in the league at the Silentnight Stadium to AFC Darwen.
Last season saw us share the points, a close 1-0 home victory was followed by a 3-0 defeat away, although the away trip was to be a night to forget after a red card for Irlam keeper Lee White early in the game would dictate the direction of the game that night.
Early days for all teams in the Premier Division, and with IRLAM sitting in 11th spot and Barnoldswick in 15th with just a point separating the sides, it is sure to be an exciting affair at the Ambitek Stadium tomorrow afternoon. 3pm ko
