IRLAM FC travel into the heart of Liverpool this afternoon when they visit an in form Lower Breck side, currently sitting in 7th spot in the North West Counties Premier Division.
The Lower Brecks last outing saw them defeat Skelmersdale 3-1 away, but prior to that were defeated by the same score line in an away defeat to Litherland Remyca.
A player in form at the moment is Lewis Buckley, who has found the net 7 times in his last 7 outings for Lower Breck.
IRLAM FC continue to play catch up in the fixture list, no less than six games behind this afternoon's opponents. A disjointed season so far has been far from ideal when trying to build momentum. A recent three match winning streak was tempered by three defeats on the bounce recently, but defeats against Wythenshawe (0-1) and Padiham (1-2) were the tightest of margins on the day, so confidence remains high in the Irlam camp.
Last season's headed to head fixtures between the sides saw Irlam run out 2-0 winners at the Anfield community centre, the return fixture a goalless affair at Silver St back in March.
Kick off is 3pm this afternoon
