A disappointing end to the season for the lads against a team they had never previously lost to. Indeed the oppositions delight at each goal and the end result showed how much it meant to them and their supporters. The Marine in comparison were a lot lower key and perhaps the game was lost more in their heads than in ability.

Having said all that with a little bit of luck on their side the lads could have earned a draw but were always chasing the game after falling behind to 2 first half goals. Despite 2 goals from Jack Blackmore and a first ever goal from Lewis, the Island were always chasing a 2 goal margin bringing the game back to 2-1 and 3-2 only to concede again straight after.

Manager Damian, due to missing players had to make some tactical changes to the formation and line up that has worked so well in recent months and the changes meant a slightly less fluid attacking display than normal.

The lads to their merit battled hard in this local derby and were slightly unlucky but overall had to concede to an opponent who on the day deserved their win. Man of the match, awarded for his 2 goals was Jack Blackmore.

Despite the result the lads overall performances particularly in the 2nd half of the season mean they can look forward to the new season with optimism.
