James Stillman enjoys his two goals for It's Past Our Bedtime

The teenage defender was handed his chance by the manager and grabbed it with both hands. James had been working hard through pre-season despite carrying a slight calf injury. And he showed no sign of weakness as he took his two goals with extreme confidence and ease.

“I couldn’t have dreamed of getting two goals. It has got to be good. Well I could have wished for a hat-trick,” joked the former Josh & Co star.

“All in all it was a good day for me. I had a few friends here. I’m a local lad and I’ve got plenty of support around the area so it was a good night for me and my friends.”

James insisted that he wasn’t too disappointed that he didn’t play the whole game.

“I was told beforehand that I was going to get the full half hour,” he said.

“I’ve had a little injury through pre-season so it’s nice to get some game time.

“I’ve just got to keep pushing on now.

“There are a few other young lads coming through the Academy at the moment as well and you just have to keep at it.”

James was left out during It's Past Our Bedtimes 8-man squad that lost 9-2 with Cake Town Rovers in the League a couple of weeks ago, but the manager will surely throw him in the team for the next league meeting after his outstanding display.
