Match 1: Wadebridge 0 Ivybridge 52
Match 2: Wadebridge 0 Ivybridge 40
With a cancellation at the last minute, Ivy put out a general plea for a fixture, so they were extremely grateful to Wadebridge for stepping in and inviting them down.
The Greens showed that they were operating in top grear from the start, and concerted pressure resulted in a score within the first minute. They dominated play, both in set pieces and in the loose, producing some impressive and dynamic rugby. They took opposition kicks cleanly and ran it back at the opposition at pace, giving them more options in attack. There were also opportunities to demonstrate their power, noticeably Angus's score following a strong run from Ivy's half. Despite their dominance, the Greens kept their shape and discipline, going through the phases and did not let any element of "showboating" creep in.
In the second game, the Camels had taken the opportunity of the break to regroup and looked more confident and determined, closing down some of Ivy's scoring options effectively and using possession to attack. Overall, it was a great opportunity for the Greens to play a side they don't normally come up against. Oscar provided some good service from the scrum and both Jon-Joe and Joe had some strong runs to break through the opposition's defence. What really pleased coaches was the team's ability to keep its structure and the general level of fitness across the team.
