The U10s returned from their Easter break in fine form for two games against Sidmouth. The first half of game one was a nip-and-tuck affair, with strong pressure from both sides, matched by equally impressive defending - often on the Try line – and only one score was made throughout the 15 minutes, with Billy rolling out of an attempted tackle to claim 5 points. The second half was a different story with gradient now favouring Ivybridge and Jim M quickly made it count with a fantastic solo run, held up 5 metres short of the line, but a powerful individual drive brought him the Try. Jim was soon at it again with an equally impressive score, this time from a wonderfully simple Backs move, working the ball down the line. The pack were looking impressive, with Will M, Alex C and Oscar working well together. More Tries followed for Oscar, Josiah, Will M and Tobin, to deliver a convincing 35-0 win.
The second game ran closer than the first, with Sidmouth gaining first blood. But Joe, playing Stand-off for the first time, soon struck back with a scorcher. Will C was next to put points on the board, with a weaving solo run, to put Ivy ahead. Despite some crunching tackling, especially from Jacob, Sidmouth were able to score two more, to take honours with a 10-15 victory for the visitors.
