What an achievement from our Colts teams over the years in this fantastic Cup and Plate competition.

How proud we are of them, now we see some of those from 2012 and 2014 as regular 1XV players in South West 1
2012 - runner's up in National Cup
2014 - winner of the National Plate
2016 – winner of the National Plate
Now this year they are through to Round 5 and travel to Southhampton to play Trojans.
A road trip the lads will enjoy, safe in the knowledge they are already through to their County final.
In previous years the teams have travelled far and wide, 1000s of miles but enjoying every minute. Visiting clubs we would never have the chance to and proving what great ambassadors they are for Ivybridge RFC on and off the field. Many times with their beloved club President Alan Knight in attendance, hence the now chant “Alan, Alan, Alan, Alan Knight”
It may be the last year this wonderful competition runs, what a loss it will be to Colt rugby.

This year they have produced some great rugby, in the second phase of the County Cup they have played 10, Won 8, lost 2, Points for 222, Points against 93.

Getting knocked out of the National Cup by Marlow 41 – 12 was a disappointment but also a learning curve for the squad.

In the Plate they have beaten Keynsham 47 – 5 and Chippenham 29 – 5 both games at home, in both games they showed great skill and determination to play right to the end of each game. Redruth were unable to raise a side and sent us through to play Trojans.
Pete and Molly will certainly have the lads well prepared and after losing to Barnstaple last weekend I am sure the whole team will be ready to bounce back with a win and hang onto their winning Plate title from last year.
