Bridgers bossss Paul Setter
was not too downbeat despite top dogs St Austell handing his young side a lesson in finishing.
"I think the scoreline flattered them a bit," said Setter afterwards. "Yes, they are a good side and they deserved to win, but they scored tries off our mistakes. We gave them a bit too much credit for being where they are at the start, but then we played well. If the score had finished something like 26-17, I think that would have been a fair reflection on the game.
"We also gave them too much possession, because we started to kick aimlessly and we showed a bit of naivety. However, we only missed eight tackles all day and we won all our line-outs, so we didn't do too badly at all. We scored 17 points against St Austell, and not many teams do that."
Loose-head prop Jon Morgan
, who had a huge game, scored one of Ivybridge's tries, with Matt Finn
adding a second, Adam
Bradley also notched two conversions and Luke
Martell added a drop goal.
