Ivy under 12's so unlucky not to topple reigning champs Topsham in final losing 7 - 5 after taking the lead in the 1st half.

Ivyb under 12's started the festival in a pool with Cullumpton & Kingsbridge & knew that this was not an easy ride by any means. First game saw them surprisingly cruise to a 55 - 0 win over Cullumpton which fired them up to face their local adversary Kingsbridge! A quick try by Luke Austin gave Ivy the momentum & belief they needed & they continued to battle all through the game until Will Lamont saw the gap & darted for the line making Ivy worthy winners.
These 2 wins put Ivy in the winners pool & they then faced a very strong Barnstaple team who had players who wouldn't have looked out of place in the under 15s!! But Ivybridge dug in deep & didn't disappoint their loyal supporters & with 2 storming runs from Adam Northcott they won 14 - 7. Exeter Chiefs were next on the agenda & once again Ivy were faced with a well drilled opposition that were as eager to win as we were. They didn't falter though & with great teamwork they kept the ball in hand & went on to score three tries, two from Will Lamont & 1 from Adam Northcott.
The final loomed & was a rerun of last years festival final v Topsham.
Ivy put in a spirited performance scoring the 1st try & leading at half time but Tops came back & scored a converted try to take the title. Under 12's were a real credit to the club on & off the pitch.
