Jed v Selkirk match report
Jed’s started the game attacking the Selkirk line and were rewarded with a penalty converted by Chisholm after only three minutes. Jed continued to press the Selkirk line but it was the home team that ran the length of the field for their Kiwi open side Duckett to score a try converted by McVie then a short while later the same player converted a penalty. Jed continued to pressurise Selkirk and were rewarded by another three converted penalties before half time however the home team also converted another penalty on the stroke of half time to make the score 13-12 to the home team.
Jed started the second half without stand off Scott after receiving a shoulder injury, Selkirk started the second half stronger than their visitors winger Clapperton scored a try after 5 minutes converted by McVie, this spurred Jed into action, with forwards securing good set piece ball for our backs to run onto an opportunist try by Robert Hogg was just reward for some good spoiling work from the Jed pack, converted by Chisholm. Jed continued to pressurise the home side but gave away a penalty and Slorance was shown a yellow card in the final 10 minutes, Jed had to defend when down to 14 men to try and get a losing bonus point, the 10 minutes went quickly to the relief of the visiting support that were happy to collect some reward from the game.
This was a more positive performance from Jed with some familiar faces back and working hard in the pack, thanks go to the players that turned out and played when not fully fit but still wanting to to their best for the club, hopefully another week going by and these players will recover even more coming back stronger. Next home game is against Stewarts Melvile who had a good win over the Hawks yesterday.

Subs; Andy Ions, Scott McDonald, Donald Grieve, Roy McFarlane, James Hogg Subs all used.
