Jed started the game pressurising the visitors line, keeping them in their 22 for most of the first 15 minutes, all they had to show was a try by David Gobby and a conversion by Chisholm after 7 minutes, this was quickly followed by a penalty to our visitors converted by Hanning after 10 minutes. Jed were unable to gain any momentum after this as they gave away a constant stream of penalties awarded by the referee Daniel Shaw who was making his debut in the National leagues, with decisions not going our way Stewarts went on to score two tries a conversion and kick two penalties before half time. Half time score 7 – 21.

The second half started poorly for the home side Jed conceded a try after only 3 minutes, Jed won the majority of the ball but failed to capitalise due to the visiting teams stout defence, finger tip tackles saved them several times when Hogg and Young almost breaking the visitors defensive line. However it was not to be and there were no more scoring to the game. Final score Jed 7 – Stewarts 26.

This was a game Jed needed to gain some points but were unable to convert pressure into points, Niki Bates playing his first game for a long time held the scrum together and had several runs with ball in hand towards the end of the game after he was brought in as a late replacement for Alex Croituro.
