King’s are delighted that Joe Gray will join this season as part of the senior coaching team. Joe will be at the club every Tuesday, on Thursdays as we require and whenever his Quin’s matches allow he’ll watch the 1XV on Saturdays. Joe will fit perfectly with head coach, Sam Richards, bringing a set piece expertise to the club.
Joe, born in Nottingham, played a lot of his junior rugby with current 1XV player, Will Nelson. Joe joined Harlequins from Northampton Saints in 2010 and has made close to 100 appearances for the club since making his debut against Cavalieri Prato in the Amlin Challenge Cup.
The Aviva Premiership winning hooker has previously represented England at Under 20, where he won a Six Nations Grand Slam, and at Saxon level, winning the Churchill Cup. He made his senior Test debut during England's 2014 tour to New Zealand.
Joe, a hooker, was educated at South Nottingham College, toured with England to South Africa in 2012, playing in both midweek fixtures against the Barbarians. In 2014, Joe was called into Stuart Lancaster’s squad for New Zealand.
Joe is a fantastic addition to the club.
